Lovelace Women's Hospital has been named as the ninth best place to work in the United States by Modern Healthcare.
Named as a finalist for the publication's annual "Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare" list in August, the hospital was ranked fourth in the medium provider/insurer category and fifth in the general provider/insurer category. With nearly 600 employees, an average salary of $90,000 for exempt employees and an average salary of $63,000 for non-exempt employees, the honor marks the seventh time the hospital has landed on the list.
When finalists were initially announced, CEO Sheri Milone told Business First that the recognition has long had a positive impact on the hospital's hiring efforts and is frequently something that comes up during the interview process.
Lovelace Westside Hospital also landed on the list, ranking 87th overall in the country and landing in the top 50 for the general provider/insurer category and in the top 20 for the small provider/insurer category. The Westside hospital has been named a top workplace five times since 2008.
The annual rankings are culled from hundreds of hospitals nationally and are based on several factors, including workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics and more.
