Many parents come back to Lovelace annually to say thank you to the staff that helped their children get better.
Parents are thankful to the staff at the Lovelace Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for making sure their babies got better.
“It is so wonderful to be able to come back and see all of the nurses... we have pictures of when she was first born and see the doctors and nurses who literally saved her life,” said mother Tara Lubchenco.
Lubchenco said she had to deliver her daughter Porsche seven weeks early to save both of their lives after developing severe preeclampsia.
Just days later Lovelace NICU doctors found Porsche had a dangerous intestinal infection.
The Lubchenco family are back to thank those doctors and nurses and show off how healthy their daughter Porsche is now.
The Lovelace NICU reunion is an event the staffers have looked forward to for the past 10 years and every year there's a new class of babies who return to show how well they're doing now.
The Lovelace NICU reunion is put on by the staffers and the March of Dimes in the parking lot of the Lovelace women's hospital.
"The staff and the physicians can see those families and those babies again and just celebrate that they're here,” said one Lovelace staff member.
