Dawn Kregel, MSN-HCM, RN, CCRN, is the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Lovelace Women’s Hospital. Dawn will be responsible for the nursing operations of our hospital. She most recently served as Lovelace Women’s Hospital’s interim CNO.
Dawn’s career has spanned almost 24 years, with roles including clinical nurse, supervisor, associate chief nurse and chief nursing officer positions.
Prior to joining Lovelace, she worked as the Regional Resource Chief Clinical Officer for Vibra Healthcare in Mechanicsburg, PA, where she was responsible for performance improvement for nursing-sensitive indicators, such as falls, medication administration, pain management, and HCAHPS maintenance. She also assessed knowledge gaps and regulatory compliance and readiness for The Joint Commission (TJC), the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Healthcare, Inc. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) surveys.
Dawn completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) at Texas Women’s University in Denton, TX and her Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. She will be receiving her Doctor of Nurse Practice – Executive Leadership (DNP) from Chamberlain University later this month. Dawn is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Organization of Nursing Leadership and has been invited to join Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing
