Two Lovelace Health System hospitals have landed on health care publication Modern Healthcare's 2015 Best Places to Work in Healthcare top 100 list.
Lovelace Women’s Hospital makes the list for the seventh consecutive year, while Lovelace Westside Hospital lands its fifth appearance on the list since 2008.
According to Sheri Milone, CEO of Lovelace Women's Hospital, the recognition has a positive impact on the hospital's hiring efforts.
“This is really helpful for us in recruiting employees. When we ask applicants why they chose to apply to work for us, they will say, ‘I heard that you were named one of the best places to work,’" she said. "For hospitals, our employees play the most important role in creating a great experience for our patients and providing wonderful care to them, so it is very important for us to keep those employees engaged, committed and happy.”
Farron Sneed, CEO of Lovelace Westside, attributed the recognition to "employee engagement, communication, leadership, and the working and training environment at the hospital."
Based on a number of metrics, including workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, as well as employee surveys on employee experience, the list was culled from hundreds of hospitals nationwide. While the ranking of the facilities will not be unveiled until a formal event in October, Lovelace Women's Hospital was No. 4 on the list last year with Lovelace Westside Hospital ranking 78th on the list.
